Confidence through knowledge, from one parent to another

The Autistic CEO: You are not alone

The Autistic CEO is a platform built from lived experience, dedicated to supporting families of autistic children and helping shift the conversation around autism towards agency, confidence and understanding. It exists to create space for reflection, shared learning and community, recognising the valuable insight parents develop through their everyday experiences. From this work, The Autism Journal was created as a practical tool to support families on that journey. The journal helps parents slow down, recognise patterns, reflect on their experiences and build confidence in the decisions they make for their children, bringing together lived experience and evidence in a way that supports families in everyday life.

I'm a Parent Too: Our Autism Journey

I'm Stefanie, it is nice to meet you!

After years of navigating complex systems, advocating for families, and learning to trust both evidence and instinct, I’ve committed my work to helping parents find clarity, confidence and direction.

For nearly a decade, I’ve worked alongside the autistic community: supporting young autistic people into employment and leading high-impact disability inclusion projects within local government. I am also trained by the National Autistic Society, serving as Board Member on Autism Boards, and have developed my work as a trained & certified 1:1 autism guidance advocate.

But most importantly, I am a parent to an autistic child.

That lived experience shapes everything I do. It means I understand the questions, the overwhelm, and the constant learning that comes with this journey.

I’m here to support you in understanding your child, building confidence, and navigating your path in a way that works for your family.

About the Autism Journal:

Why it exists?

The Autism Journal was created to support parents and carers navigating everyday life with an autistic child. In a world where support can feel fragmented, it helps bridge the gap between research and real family life, giving parents practical knowledge and understanding.

How it supports parents?

Through simple prompts and regular check-ins, the journal helps parents notice patterns, reflect on their experiences and recognise progress. It creates space to build confidence and feel supported on the journey

What it does?

The Autism Journal is an easy-to-use guide and reflective journal designed for real life. Informed by research and lived experience, it helps explain the “why” behind behaviour, communication, sleep and sensory needs - helping parents respond with greater confidence and clarity.

Knowledge Base

Resources

Greater London Authority Funded Autism Parent Circles:

Our Autism Community holds rich knowledge navigating complex processes aimed at securing appropriate support for autistic children & young adults.

We set out to look at ways to bridge the gap between communities, researchers and policy makers to foster a richer evidence base built on lived experience. We adopted a place-based approach, starting within the Borough of Croydon in partnership with Autism Champion Bright Futures 4 All and funded by the Greater London Authority to improve the quality of current standards to make SEND policy better informed, more inclusive and equitable.

Working with 12 Croydon Families and their autistic children we set out the ‘Closing the Loop’ toolkit to contribute to the field of knowledge exchange working towards a safer, fairer, greener and more prosperous city.
